Housing Programs
Kossuth County offers Midwestern living at its
best with tree-lined streets, green spaces, city parks and affordable
homes of all types and sizes. Different styles
of homes abound — quaint bungalows, traditional ranch-style
family homes, stately historic Victorian residences and growing
developments featuring the best in new construction. You will find
homes are well-kept with many in move-in condition. If you're looking
to locate in the wide-open space of the country, a small residential
acreage or true farm/ranch can be found. Apartments, condominiums
and assisted living quarters are also available.
A
number of real estate brokerages throughout the county can help
potential residents meet their housing needs. Several communities
offer residential property tax abatement as well as demolition assistance.
A first-time home buyer revolving loan fund is being established.
Housing developers and contractors building or
rehabilitating housing in economically distressed areas of Iowa
have incentives available through the Enterprise Zone Program including
possible state tax benefits.
