TRY THE Y DAYS!

We welcome members to invite friends and family to come and check us out for “Try the Y Days” beginning Monday, February 5th through Saturday, February 10th.  The entire facility will be open to the public for use.  Anyone that decided to join during this week will receive 1 free month of membership!  Spread the word to stop in and “Try the Y”!

SURVIVOR

It’s back!  This is a team challenge for all members.  The event is based on exercise units earned (one ½ hour of non-stop activity is considered 1 unit) this includes all classes, weight training and cardio training.  Each week there will also be a fitness challenge to be completed by the whole team.  Teams can have up to 5 members and each week the total units for the team will be displayed on the bulletin board.

Everyone who reaches the goal and completes the challenges will receive a T-shirt.

You must be a YMCA member 15 years or older to participate.

Registration begins Wednesday, January 10th

Registration Fee $15.00

The 8 week race begins Thursday, February 1st!

Contact Brad at the YMCA for more information 295-7701.

TOWELS

Once again we find our towel numbers dwindling and are asking for your help!  If you or anyone in your household had accidentally taken home some of the YMCA workout towels we will gladly accept them  - no questions asked!

TEEN DANCE

Saturday, January 13th   from 7:30 – 10:30!

$5.00 per person.

KOSSUTH CONNECTIONS

The 1st Snow Ball dance was a big success.  Over 100 kids from all over the county attended and had a great time.  Pictures are available on the latest Kossuth Connections newsletter: http://www.algonaymca.org/Documents/KCJan2007.pdf

PROGRAM UPDATE

Sessions of basketball and wrestling are under way.  There is still time to sign up for the adult racquetball league.  Stop by the YMCA for more information.

DID YOU KNOW?

We no longer have pop in the family center.  We are now offering only juices, milks, water and PowerAde.  All items will be available in smaller sizes for our youth members!  We also have revamped our snack selection and are looking to provide healthier options such as fruit, granola bars, pretzels, and much more.
