OPEN DOORS Financial Assistance is available to the extent possible through generous donations from friends, families and fundraising events. Financial Assistance may be used for annual memberships or programs at the Algona Family YMCA. Both members and non-Members are encouraged to apply. SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE

Do you know where your children will be??  The YMCA day camp program is a great opportunity for kids to get out of the house and experience something new and exciting.  Parents can register kids for as many weeks as they would like – up to the WHOLE SUMMER!  Space is limited – so register today!  Contact the YMCA for more information.

EASTER

The Algona Family YMCA will be closed Sunday, April 8th for Easter to let our entire staff enjoy this holiday with family.  We will reopen on Monday, April 9th at 4:30 am.

SURVIVOR

This year’s survivor program has successfully come to a close.  Congratulations to team Booty Belles for completing the most exercise units.  The total number of units during the eight week session for all teams was 5172 that equals over 2586 hours or an average of 369 hours per week!!  Those that completed the program please stop by and pick up your t-shirt anytime.  Great job everyone!

SCHOOL AGE CHILDCARE

The YMCA is happy to announce that it will be doing childcare for children aged 3 and up.  This program is open to all children aged 3 through 5th grade. This program will include wrap around childcare for those children enrolled in all pre-schools as well as before and after school care. Registration materials will be available at the YMCA on May 1st.

BALLROOM DANCE REUNION

Calling all past ballroom dance participants!  Join us on Friday, April 27th for a ballroom dance reunion.  Ann and Harley Kohlhaas will be at this event giving a refresher course from 7:30 – 8:00 pm with open dancing to follow until 10:00 pm.  The cost is $15.00 per couple and will include light refreshments.  Please register by April 23rd.  Space is limited.  Call Julie for more information at 295-7701.

Our Spring programs are getting into swing!  All program registration forms will be available at the YMCA or on our website at www.algonaymca.org

  • Track and Field – for boys and girls Kindergarten to 6th grade

TEEN DANCE

Saturday, April 14th   from 7:30 – 10:30!

$5.00 per person.

KOSSUTH CONNECTIONS

On April 12th, we will be having a town hall meeting at Sentral School in Fenton.  This is a free event for middle school & high school students and adults.  We will have information on alcohol, smoking, eating disorders and other teen issues.  Kossuth County students will be performing skits and demonstrations for the public. Y-PALS

April 19th at 6:00 pm the Y-Pals will be meeting at the YMCA for kite flying and a picnic in the shelter house.  The Y-Pal program is always looking for new mentors – both men and women.  Stop at the YMCA today to pick up an information packet.

SUMMER COLLEGE MEMBERSHIPS

All College students are welcome to join the YMCA during the summer to stay in shape while enjoying all of the home cooking!  Memberships are good for 100 days from purchase and are $100.00.  Stop by the YMCA today and treat your student while they are home!
