Kossuth County Economical Development Corporation’s
CEO Steering, along with Algona Municipal Utilities will be cosponsoring
the next CEO Network meeting which will be on June 25th at the Knights
of Columbus Hall in Algona. The meeting will be held from 11:30-1:00pm
and if you would like to reserve a meal you’ll need to call
and place your RSVP to the KCEDC office at 295-7979 by June 23rd.
The Keynote speaker will be Dr. Koob. Dr. Robert
Koob is the eighth president of the University of Northern Iowa.
He began his tenure in August 1995, and he is the first UNI graduate
to return to his alma mater as President. He has been distinguished
at UNI for his efforts to promote and strengthen relationships between
the University and the citizens of Iowa, and to fully integrate
the use of cutting-edge technology campus-wide. These initiatives
build on the University’s strengths of providing a strong
liberal arts curriculum, excellence in teaching, scholarship, and
service.
As President, he has focused on implementing the
University strategic plan, articulating core values and progress
indicators, and setting goals for the University, which is continually
cited as one of the nation’s top public comprehensive universities.
His efforts have also produced extraordinary campus and community
growth, including the new Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center,
the Freeburg McLeodUSA Center and the Human Performance Center.
We encourage all area business and community, city,
government leaders, along with summer interns to attend the next
CEO Network meeting at the Knights of Columbus Hall on June 25.
Again, RSVP at the KCEDC office at 296-7979 by June 23rd.
