As you plan to write and submit a Kossuth County Foundation grant application, it is important to know some application basics. The following points provide answers to some common questions:
What's the process for submitting an application?
The application process is really fairly simple. Once you have identified your need or project, review the Areas of Grantmaking to determine whether or not your idea falls under KCCF guidelines.
What application should be used and where can the forms be found?
All the grant related documents can be downloaded from this website, or you can pick up a hard copy at the office of Kossuth County Economic Development, located at 106 South Dodge St, Suite 210, Algona, Iowa.
There are four separate documents you will need to submit. The Grant Application, the Fiscal Sponsor Form, a project budget, and a cover letter from your group director or CEO.
When are applications due?
Each grant cycle has dates specific to the individual year. Generally speaking, the deadline is shortly after the first of the year. Refer to the grant brochure for details.
How long until an award is made?
The Kossuth County Community Foundation reviews all grant applications very soon after the deadline, and grant awardees are usually notified within six to eight weeks. A grant awards ceremony will then be held several weeks later. You will be notified by mail if your grant application was successful. Good luck!
